Right, I'm fallen into Making Playlists as an apparent new hobby, and so of course I'm making some for the Amis, and, well.... I can't find any decent Courfeyrac songs. Some might say this reflects my own poor musical choices, to which I say OF COURSE IT DOES, but the fact remains: Courfeyrac songs, I need 'em. Any Gen Enjolras & Combeferre recs would be appreciated too!

Not quite what you're asking for, but I feel like the song Dig My Grave is highly relevant for the Amis in general! (the lyrics)

I hear that problem! I don't seem to have a lot of combat songs either (and the ones I have are mostly Not Appropriate for this context), or I'd rec you a bunch.

...so if you don't mind I'm just going to keep giving you songs that aren't quite what you ask for, WHOOPS. (well the last one kind of is! it's a barricade song at least, even if not for one of the particular moments you mention!)

Why Walk When You Can Fly (lyrics) for L'aigle.

With My Own Two Hands for the Amis (lyrics)

Brother Stand Beside Me for the Amis (lyrics)

For combat songs, Woodkid might be a good choice - I'm not really an Amis expert, but Stabat Mater (lyrics) for a moment of introspection or doubt?

I was thinking of Science Genius Girl for Combeferre (...or Joly), and really I think a lot of Freezepop songs would work for Courfeyrac. I, uh. I would link you but I don't know how to Music on the internet.

They're more in the goofy-happy Courfeyrac department than the charter-burning barricade-dying Courfeyrac department, though.

I um.

I don't really know how to, um. How to iTunes. Like I know I did it once! I got a thing once! And I can, you know, get things onto my computer from a CD. So when I say I don't know how to Music on the internet I mean it.

BUT I RECOMMEND HARE-BRAINED SCHEME. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tr_8wBIvbE

(meh, I gotta remind myself how to do links, don't I)

(Also oh god yes Bright College Days for Lesgle.)

If you're okay with songs in foreign languages, READY STEADY GO by L'arc~en~Ciel (who are Japanese despite the name) might work for Courfeyrac. Lyrics here with English translation, and video here. It was also used in an abbreviated form as the second opening theme for the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime, if you've seen that.

I also feel like "Bright College Days" by Tom Lehrer has potential as a complete snarkfest about higher education.

ETA: For doomed barricade times, "A Secret He Will Take to His Grave" by Murray Gold is a good instrumental, as is "A Special Sort of Bus" by the same composer for a more militant feel (shhh, yes, I know they're from Doctor Who soundtracks. They're good music).

"Outlands" from the TRON: Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk might work for barricades or intense!Enjolras.

And "Nagai Nagai Yume no Naka no Utagai" is a jazzy instrumental from the Baccano! soundtrack that might work for Courfeyrac.

Also, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles for Grantaire and Enjolras.^_^

What about Amy MacDonald's 'Youth of Today'? (Lyrics)

Also this is a post-Barricade song, and also kind of event specific, but have you heard The Men They Couldn't Hang's 'Ghosts of Cable Street'? (Lyrics) It's a good song on its own, even if it doesn't necessarily fit into this context.

I adore Amy MacDonald. For about a summer I listened to basically nothing but her one album. (I think she's got another album out now, but I haven't heard it yet. I'm not good at keeping up with that kind of thing.)

And yes! So much music! (Also, had you not heard of Tom Lehrer before?)

"We Are Young" by Fun.? Or perhaps "Fireflies" by Owl City . . . I have no idea why that one screams Courfeyrac to me but it does.

Someone once came up with "Hear you me" by Jimmy Eat World for Courfeyrac (and specifically Marius - Courfeyrac), and oh, does it work!
